Curry Powder
Curry Powder is one of those pantry samples that you need in your everyday cooking. Make this simple curry powder recipe and add it to any dishes you feel like adding!
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Total Time 5 minutes mins
- 4 tbsp coriander powder
- 3 tbsp cumin powder
- 2 tbsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp chilli powder cayenne powder for a milder curry or paprika for non-spicy curry
- 2 tsp ginger powder
- a pinch cinnamon powder optional
Add the spices in a small jar or bowl: coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, ginger powder, and cinnamon powder.
Mix well until combined.
Store in a cool and dry place for (preferably) up to 3 months.
- Try to use organic and authentic (meaning Indian) spices. By doing so, your curry powder will be more flavorful and tastier.
- Besides those ingredients, you can also add dried ground mustard, a pinch of cardamom, ground black pepper, and garlic powder.
- If you don’t want to store the curry powder, make it directly when cooking (probably you will need to add around 6 times less amount for each ingredient). Just add all the ingredients to your pan or pot.
